Situated in the sheltered walled garden of the Dalswinton Country Estate, the marquee looks out onto a lake, perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony. A new wedding venue in Dumfries and Galloway, Dalswinton is powered by Queensberry Event Hire, based in the area and experts in Weddings & Events.

Dalswinton Estate has it’s own “Wee Red Church” on site which can be hired along with the venue, allowing you to keep your big day all in one place.

The Marquee Venue

Our beautiful marquee is situated in the walled garden at Dalswinton Estate, surrounded by trees and beside the beautiful picket fenced Georgian greenhouse – a perfect terraced outside drinks area with clear roof cover!

The marquee seats up to 250 guests with space for bar, lounge area and dance floor – we can partition the marquee to make the internal space perfect for your numbers and create the right atmosphere for a good party! We have a built in kitchen, toilets and cloak room area with power and heating all provided as standard. We can make the venue bigger on request.

Sorry we had to talk about this, but we think the detail is important – In one word, Quality. The Marquee, furniture, lighting for your venue is supplied and managed by Queensberry Events  – experts in marquee and event hire and always moving with the latest trends – this gives Dalswinton weddings the ability to transform its finished look week to week for unique and personal weddings to suit all tastes.

Queensberry Events owners William Duncan & Sophie Thomson flew out to Germany to research and source the very best marquee for your venue. The 15x40m Premium Clear span Wedding marquee is designed for strength and flexibility to maximise the beauty of the estate. 

An eves beam height of 3m, from the floor to the start of the roof, standard is 2.1/2.4m means when standing up your view is uninterrupted and the marquee feels more open and connected to the grounds. The bay distance is 5m, meaning the distance between uprights for windows is very large, almost double standard marquees so you have a less interrupted views. We can fit clear roofs to any 12x5m bay on the marquee. (15x30m marquee = six 5m bays).

The marquee as standard comes with a clear varnished timber flooring system, double french doors, overhear clear roofed entrance terrace, flat white interior linings and Cox&Cox chandelier lighting. We also include new Hamptons style Cross back chairs and round tables, Shaker bars, wooden bar stools and lounge seating areas.

The Catering

Dalswinton Estate work closely with our suppliers to ensure the same high standards you expect from us are maintained. For this reason we have a preferred catering partner who can provide anything from a Hog Roast to a 7 course banquet style meal to a simple yet elegant wedding breakfast.

We understand that the party starts with great food and great service, we will be available throughout the day to make sure everything is exactly as you had imagined!

Event Management

An event manager will be on hand throughout your day to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will have the same manager from booking right through to when your last guest leaves, allowing you can really relax and enjoy your big day!

Drinks Packages & Prosecco Van!

We believe that a well chosen and fairly priced drinks menu can make a wedding to remember, which is why we include our very own “Berry&Co” Prosecco van as standard with our drinks packages.

Our Prosecco Van will provide the welcome fizz for your guests and after the meal we will add Peroni and Speciality Gins and keep staffed for the remainder of the night for a second bar area from the entrance terrace!

Finishing Touches - upgrade your marquee

For those of you wanting to personalise your marquee, all of Queensberry Events gorgeous finishing touches are all available to upgrade your interiors (furniture, lighting, floral/hanging installations etc). In addition, our clear span marquee is fully customisable with clear roof panels at 5 meter intervals. This would allow you to have the full marquee with a clear roof, or possibly two clear panels over your dance floor and reception area, it really is up to you! We can also upgrade the panoramic clear sides to glass wall panels.

The Mews Flat - sleeps 6

The Mews flat is a conversion of the hay loft in the Stable Yard, 5 min walk from the loch and the walled garden in the heart of the estate. Perfect for the bridal party the night before your wedding and for the bride and groom on the night!

Consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 with either twin or double beds and 1 with 2 single beds – each room has en suite bathroom. Large sitting room/kitchen/dining area with TV and Wi-Fi.
